Genetics of diabetes complications

I am currently conducting my PhD studies in the genetics of diabetic complications. In our studies we explore ability of genetic loci associated with the risk of T2D to predict progression of micro- and macrovascular complications. We also focus on identification of nobel genes that are associates with protecion from diabetic complication using a collection of new sample of diabetic patients who escaped major complications despite long duration of diabetes.
